Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 global manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opening for aSales and Marketing Lead Generation Specialist (Lead Specialist)supporting the IG Americas West Subregion. This role is a key driver of growth, connecting innovative gas solutions with customers across diverse industries.

This position will be based at our Global Headquarters in Allentown, PA-with working hours adjusted to align with West Coast business hours-or at our Corporate Headquarters in Chandler, AZ.

The Lead Specialist plays a critical role in building a strong sales pipeline by identifying, nurturing, and qualifying prospective accounts into sales-ready opportunities. Using internal databases and analytical tools, this individual will prioritize outreach, engage leads through multiple channels, and collaborate with Sales to convert prospects into new signings of industrial gases and equipment.

The ideal candidate is curious, resilient, and eager to learn about Air Products' offerings-including supply modes, applications, technology, and contracts. They are a problem-solver who uses tools and innovation to get results. This role offers cross-functional exposure to Marketing, Commercial Technology, and Business Development

Job Responsibilities:

Prospecting & Research

  • Identify and prioritize prospective accounts using internal databases, market intelligence tools, and industry publications.
  • Participate in regular territory planning sessions with Sales to align priorities and engagement strategies.

Outbound & Inbound Engagement

  • Initiate contact via phone, email, and digital channels to uncover customer needs, identify decision-makers, and qualify opportunities.
  • Respond to inbound inquiries and follow up on leads generated from marketing campaigns, trade shows, and digital channels.

Lead Qualification & Conversion

  • Qualify leads based on defined criteria (e.g., scope, budget, timing) and transition them to Sales for further development.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions and follow-up actions in Salesforce.

Collaboration & Campaign Support

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Technology to develop and execute targeted campaigns.
  • Provide feedback on lead quality and campaign effectiveness to improve future outreach.

Continuous Learning & Innovation

  • Stay current on Air Products' offerings, applications, and technologies.
  • Pilot and adopt new tools and reporting technologies to improve workflow and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in sales, marketing, or customer-facing roles.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills; excellent phone etiquette.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and demonstrated adoption of new capabilities to improve/enhance work processes.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Analytical mentality with the ability to interpret data and trends.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), SAP Qlik, or HubSpot and familiarity with industrial or technical products, also a plus.
