Zayo is seeking a Regional Logistics Specialist based in the Atlanta, GA region to play a leadership role on the Warehouse Operations Team and the local market where they are located demonstrating best practice in all Warehouse and Inventory Management processes. The Regional Logistics Specialist is responsible for market support of field operations, logistics and warehouse operations, as well as staging and configuration tasks. This role is also responsible for regional inventory health including inventory audits and inventory processes. The Regional Logistics Specialist reports to the Logistics Director and has a close working relationship with Operations, Project Managers, Field Engineers, NCC, Purchasing and Procurement Group.

The Regional Logistics Specialist will perform all activities in the warehouse related to the receiving, unpacking, verifying, recording of incoming shipments and outgoing to support Operations. Responsible for maintaining organization and inventory accuracy in the field offices under their responsibility, the Regional Logistics Specialist works with little to no supervision while managing all inventory operations according to standards and best practice.

This role supports the full lifecycle of material management including receiving, stocking, deployment, and return processes. The Regional Logistics Specialist will manage field inventory, perform site audits, support regional project staging and coordinate urgent shipments and critical spare fulfillment. They will also lead logistics training for field teams, drive inventory process improvements, and conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliation to maintain SOX compliance and operational accuracy.

*This is an onsite role that requires regional travel. Travel will be primarily day trips with occasional monthly/quarterly overnight trips to locations and warehouses.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as "first point of contact" for field support related to logistics and inventory escalations and will drive efficiency in business operations.

  • Timely and accurate processing of inventory transactions.

  • Examine contents and compare with records, such as packing lists, manifests and invoices, to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Perform transactions in the inventory system for all material movement through the region including - receiving, stocking and deploying.

  • Available to process critical spare requests received after hours to support network failures.

  • Lead training events to standardize processes across the Operations group.

  • Perform special projects and tasks as assigned while meeting and exceeding Warehouse Operations standards.

  • Maintain an organized and standard setup of all warehouse inventory according to the Warehouse Operations standards and best practice.

  • Drive inventory accuracy and integrity through cycle counts and physical inventories in local field offices as well as regional sites - requiring some day and overnight travel.

  • Participates and contributes in team meetings.

  • Operate within and promotes a safety culture in all warehouse functions

Qualifications:

  • Must live within an hour of Atlanta or be comfortable commuting to Atlanta daily.

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain or other related field required. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in inventory management or warehouse operations is required.

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma is preferred.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Good computer and software skills to include; word processing, email, spreadsheets and electronic presentation programs.

  • Experience utilizing material handling equipment including operation of forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload trailers and box trucks.

  • Able to multitask, have a sense of urgency and follow through.

  • Be able to work both in a warehouse and office environment and capable of handling and moving heavy materials, lifting up to 70 pounds unassisted.

  • Travel: 15-25% travel to locations and warehouses in the region. The majority of travel will be day travel in the ATL region with occasional overnight travel outside of the region.

Estimated Base Salary Range: $56,300 - $75,050 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
