Fishbeck is seeking Senior Surveyor I candidates to lead complex survey projects across multiple Ohio locations. This role includes a mix of field and office work and requires strong leadership and technical skills.

Primary Functions


  • Lead and oversee field survey operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate survey projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and team supervision.
  • Interpret and analyze legal documents, plats, and engineering drawings to determine property boundaries and survey requirements.
  • Perform complex calculations and data analysis to support boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys.
  • Review and validate survey data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to integrate survey data into design and construction workflows.
  • Mentor and train junior survey staff, promoting technical growth and quality standards.
  • Prepare and review survey reports, plats, and documentation for submission to clients or regulatory agencies.


Desired Skills


  • Licensed Professional Surveyor in Ohio (or ability to obtain licensure).
  • 5+ years of progressive surveying experience.Strong understanding of boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys.
  • Skilled in operating robotic total stations, RTK GPS, and data collectors with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS software for drafting and data processing.
  • Capable of leading field crews, managing daily operations, and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in field data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication for coordinating with engineers, project managers, and clients.
  • Able to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Desired Education

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum Physical Requirements

Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs., walk or stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and climbing. Good vision, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness are essential.
