POSITION:
Community Education Program Coordinator - Youth Enrichment

TYPE OF POSITION:
Hourly, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Hours may vary based on program needs
Hours may include evenings/weekends as needed

REPORTS TO:
Executive Director of Community Education

SUPERVISION:
Program-dependent

SALARY: $26.00/hr - $32.00/hr (dependent on qualifications and experience)

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong communication and human relations skills
  • Ability to supervise and work well with others
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate classes and programs, problem solve, work with and gain input from community groups
  • Effective management and organizational skills as well as interviewing, negotiating and processing skills

POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to research, develop, plan, staff, coordinate and evaluate educational enrichment classes and programs for youth (PK-12). Includes aquatics programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Assess community needs and develop, implement and monitor programs accordingly
  • Hire class instructors for program launches and recruit new instructors as needed
  • Secure and maintain confidential client/participant and staff records
  • Develop community/school partnerships as resources for personnel district wide
  • Work with district facilities specialist for reserving space for classes
  • Write grant proposals in partnership with Supervisor for consideration (as applicable)
  • Determine, purchase, and maintain supplies and/or equipment for programming
  • Compile and record statistical data for reports
  • Attend professional development to enhance skills and program quality
  • Develop yearly program/promotion goals with Executive Director and Supervisor
  • Coordinate additional projects as requested by Supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned
