We are actively looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a high school intern at Marine Solutions in our Rosedale, Maryland office. This presents an excellent opportunity to acquire real-world experience by actively engaging with our technology programs and assisting with various tasks in our shop.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The high school intern will assist our Shop Manager with projects throughout the internship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with tracking and organizing tools, diving equipment and consumables
  • Staging gear for jobs based on loadout lists or unloading gear from jobs
  • Cleaning and maintaining workstations, welding areas and common walkways
  • Helping reorganize storage racks, labeling bins, and restocking first aid stations and kits
  • Prepping dive gear for inspection (e.g., removing regulators, checking cylinders for hydro dates, testing life support equipment and non life support equipment)
  • Helping with basic boat/trailer cleanups and visual inspections before deployment
  • Prepping mobile racks and loading/unloading basic items
  • Shadowing compressor operations, fill station operations and pressure washing equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in basic computer functions (Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that translate to all levels of the organization.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY

The duties of this position require the intern to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While in the field, the intern may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the required duties of this position. This position requires maintaining current industry knowledge and expertise through active involvement in professional organizations and/or other activities that may require additional and/or flexible working hours. SCREENING

COMPENSATION

The hourly pay range for positions in Maryland is $15 a hour, depending on education and relevant experience.
