Summary: The Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) Specialist will be a certified ASNT LEVEL III in Ultrasonics, Visual, Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle, responsible for writing and administering the Energy Transfer (ET) ASNT-TC-1A Written Practice and Method Specific Procedures. This includes the development of training, testing and certification of Energy Transfer NDE technicians in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A. The NDE Specialist will also be challenged daily with the systematic review and assessment of various Pipeline Integrity non-destructive testing techniques and methodologies. The Specialist must be able to determine the proper NDE methods for identified anomalies, including knowledge of current and historical pipeline manufacturing techniques and processes. Must be able to interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures not limited to API 1104, CFR 49 Part192, CFR 49 Part 195, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, and ASME Section V. The position will also work closely with pipeline integrity project managers, Integrity and Material Engineers, and operations staff. Working Conditions and Requirements: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 1. Exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions. 2. Working conditions may include confined spaces. 3. Repetitively standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching over shoulder height, and climbing ladders up to 25 feet. Occasionally lifting 50 lbs. with or without assistance. 4. Subject to callouts to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays. 5. Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials, and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and may require appropriate personal protective equipment. 6. Occasional overnight travel may be required up to 25% of the time |
