Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager - Security.
In this role, the successful candidate serves as the primary liaison for security operations at the Cobble Hill Emergency Department (CHED). is responsible for aligning expectations, directing and managing the activities of all shift supervisors and front-line security personnel. The successful candidate monitors, inspects and guides staff work performance, prepares and conducts investigations related to security operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Proactively assists the Senior Manager in leading CHED operations.
- Monitors and provides recommendations on all new and incumbent security personnel.
- Maintains safety and security throughout the CHED identifies and establishes programs for orienting new employees.
- Plans and oversees the training/development of all new staff in advance of onboarding.
- Develops and ensures compliance with a Refresher Training Program for all incumbent security personnel.
- Assists in the planning, development and implementation of new procedures
- Organizes and conducts in-service training sessions to implement new programs and/or ensure existing programs are being followed.
- Conducts regular meetings to promote the most effective methods of improving the Emergency Departments safety.
- Actively participates in security personnels performance management through a consistent cadence of meetings with staff to provide necessary feedback and create/monitor goals.
- Coordinates next steps related to operational opportunities for improvement.
- Ensures complaints are communicated, managed and addressed in a timely manner.
- Serves as the central liaison to local law enforcement (e.g. NYPD, FDNY etc.)
- Represents department leadership during emergencies or when necessary.
- Ensures daily work assignments align with daily operations based on activity levels.
- Monitors and inspects work performance assignments and recommends improvements in work methods.
- Conducts investigations, reviews incident reports for accuracy/content and ensures accurate/timely reporting of incidents.
- Maintains and ensures compliance with established hospital/departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
- Emphasizes and focuses on proactive measures to strengthen policies and procedures. Recommends policy changes as necessary.
- Oversees all special security activities to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
- Adheres and focuses on compliance with regulatory standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Three years supervisory experience and knowledge of policies, procedures and laws required
- Good appearance, oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 or more years Law Enforcement Experience with at least 5 years as a supervisor or above
- Prior supervisory experience working in a healthcare setting
- Fire Safety Director Certificate
- Valid NYS Driver's license

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $120,461.80 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
