Job Title: Material Control Deputy

Location: Lockport, LA

Position Overview: The Material Control Deputy serves as a liaison between the Material Control, Production, and Engineering departments. The primary responsibility is to ensure timely communication and coordination so that materials are available when required by the production team.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor and Parts Master in recording inventory-related issues into the system.
  • Train personnel on the use of the company's computer systems.
  • Expedite material requests from the production group that have not yet been received.
  • Investigate facility requests not reflected in the database and coordinate the addition of material to work orders. Ensure the material is purchased, received, and distributed correctly.
  • Support the warehouse with small material deliveries across the facility.
  • Conduct project reconciliation as projects are completed to close out open orders, requisitions, work orders and project inventory.
  • Review Bills of Material (BOM) and compare against Work in Process (WIP) to ensure data accuracy.
  • Communicate across departments to identify and repurpose excess material instead of duplicating orders.
  • Act as a substitute for the Parts Master in their absence.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, especially employee safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality system principles.


Qualifications:



  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in warehousing operations, shipyard parts identification and handling.
  • Oracle system process experience is preferred.


Skills and Abilities



  • Proficiency with basic computer software, including MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented work ethic.
