In this full-time position you will support design-build Owner Advisor projects and design-build procurements within large programs. This position may be based out of our Denver, Sacramento, San Diego, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Seattle or Alexandria offices, but will support projects and pursuits around the company.

Brown and Caldwell seek am entry level Project Support staff to support a design-build Owner Advisor group to implement collaborative delivery processes. Work associated with this can be within a large program or specific project execution. As an OA the specific focus will be on assisting Clients in the full delivery of collaborative design-build, inclusive of preconstruction implementation and procurement, delivery of design and construction, start-up and commissioning and O&M for design-build, progressive design-build and construction management at-risk (CMAR). This position will support projects in a wide variety of locations throughout the U.S.

Characteristics of the successful candidate include the proven ability to support large program and projects, multidiscipline project delivery professionals while maintaining, leveraging and expanding their exceptional relationships with local and national resources and teams. The candidate shall have project delivery experience.

Job Expectations:



  • Provide consultation related to the merits of various project delivery methods and support design-build procurement best practices as an advisor to owners
  • Prepare presentations to clients related to best practices for design-build and CMAR implementation
  • Collaborate and work directly with clients in planning, negotiating and executing design-build projects during the preconstruction and construction phases
  • Support owners in the review of various construction plans and approaches during the design and preconstruction phase of design-build and CMAR projects


Desired Skills and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or similar work experiences.
  • Minimum two years experience in a professional office setting required; experience in project coordination.
  • Candidate should be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Power Point, Project, SharePoint, and Bluebeam skills are a plus.
  • Candidate should be able to anticipate project needs and have the ability to identify work assignments independently.
  • Candidate should be comfortable working directly with senior managers and technical staff.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) are essential.
  • Successful candidate will be proactive and self-motivated.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize required.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment required.
  • Ability to work under multiple deadline pressures required.
  • Candidate should be willing to work occasional over-time.
  • Travel will be required.
  • Soft skills - being able to read the room and know when to speak up or when to blend into the background.
    Support owners in the review and validation of design-builder and CMAR construction estimates and support guaranteed price negotiations on owners' behalf
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with multi-discipline project teams comprised of client staff, technical resources, and subconsultants
  • Identify and assess Owner Advisor opportunities and support business development pursuits to win Owner Advisor projects
  • Support the development of procurement documents and coordinate associated technical specifications, reports, planning, and construction submittal reviews, calculations, models and other technical deliverables to support the owner's procurement and implementation process
  • Support development and communication of design-build and CMAR best practices via participation in professional organizations and conferences and for internal marketing and staff development
  • Position will require travel; potentially up to 20% of the time


Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: 72,000 - 98,000
