Job Description

Position Function: The position functions as the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors at Cardinal Central. Assists with signing guests into our queuing system and provides general information about the university, on-campus programs, and events. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service, managing the Welcome Desk operation, ensuring the reception area's smooth operation, and supporting Cardinal Central's administrative functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Professionally greet and welcome students, staff, and visitors as they arrive at Cardinal Central. Assist with signing guests into our queuing system and ensure that all visitors are documented and directed. Possess a friendly, welcoming and helpful demeanor.

2. Provide information about Cardinal Central and the University's services, programs, and events. Answer in-person inquiries, and/or emails, providing accurate information and/or directing them to the appropriate department. Represent Cardinal Central at University events.

3. Ensure all interactions and handling of student records comply with FERPA regulations. Maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of student information at all times.

4. Collect scholarship checks and student documents, provide receipts, and notate in Salesforce. Ensure all documents and checks are ready for pick-up.

5. Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations and provide excellent service. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.

6. Utilize and maintain proficiency in various computer programs and software, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Windows, Banner, Salesforce, and Teams

7. Maintain a tidy and organized reception area. Keep the Welcome Desk manual updated.

8. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or an additional two years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of an associate's degree.
  • Over one year in a receptionist or customer service role in an educational or service-oriented environment. Experience with modern technologies and systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. Needs to work well in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; student information systems (Salesforce and Banner); and waitlist queuing systems (WaitWhile).
