Primary Purpose of the Position
To teach 2 Spanish language courses in the Department of World Languages and Cultures for the Spring 2025 semester.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The Department of World Languages and Cultures is located within the College of Arts and Sciences, Business and Education. The department offers the major in Spanish, and minors in French, Portuguese, and Spanish. Also, students can take several semesters of courses in Chinese and Swahili.

Minimum Experience/Education

  • Master's Degree or higher, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Spanish, from a four-year accredited institution.
  • Experience teaching foreign languages and cultures courses to undergraduate students both face-to-face and online.

Normal Work Schedule
Morning, afternoon and evenings. Varies depending on the departmental needs

The successful candidate must demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to a liberal arts education in a linguistically and culturally diverse educational environment.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics, pedagogy, literature or related field from a four-year accredited institution.
  • Three or more years of experience teaching both low-division and upper-division literature or culture to undergraduate students face-to-face or online.
