HX5 is seeking a qualified Network Operations Center Engineer in support of the MDA IRES program at Schriever Air Force Base, in Colorado. The Network Operations Center Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Developmentfor Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the MDA Enterprise under the Global Network Operation Support Center (GNOSC) management providing
  • 24x7x365 Network Operations Center support.
  • Have primary duties that include operations and maintenance of the MDA general service network infrastructure, primarily troubleshooting and managing configurations on network routers, switches, encryptors, and firewalls.
  • Perform network and firewall engineering, monitoring and administration functions as required, provide initial analysis and troubleshooting on issues identified with network monitoring tools and provide troubleshooting support to end users on the network as well as other general networking tasks.
  • Have additional responsibilities that include generate/provide status reports, provide network anomaly analysis, and develop engineering red lines as needed to support network maintenance actions, engineering changes/upgrades, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Respond to Remedy Incident Tickets, working with customers to resolve network communication issues.
  • Provide Test/Event support as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have 4 years of directly related experience in an engineering field
  • Must have applicable experience with networking (LAN/WAN), TCP/IP, Multicast, OSPF, BGP routing protocols, and various WAN network mediums
  • Must be familiar with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Micro Focus ITOM, NetScout, networking (LAN/WAN) and basic troubleshooting network anomalies (command line access to network devices such as Cisco routers/switches)
  • Must be familiar with Remedy Action Request System
  • Must have an understanding of COMSEC, Circuit Actions and DISA Tech Control procedures
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or higher
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security
  • Have a Cisco CCNA Certification
  • Have experience with Cisco routers/switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, McAfee, Wildfire, and FireEye IPS/IDS, Citrix NetScaler, Blue Coat Proxy and SSL Decryptors
  • Have experience with IT Services Configuration Management processes
  • Have experience with Remedy and SNMP monitoring tools (e.g., Micro focus/HPOV/SolarWinds)
  • Have experience with ITIL framework and ITIL-based processes, to include continual service improvement, change management, and problem investigation

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

This position is expected to pay $75,000 - $105,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • This position may require travel up to 25% of the time in support of MDA remote site integration activities.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
