Great Hill Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Epidemiologist IV to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This role is critical to advancing global surveillance, detection, and response capabilities for respiratory viruses. The position will serve as a senior technical expert and liaison to international partners, including Ministries of Health and global public health organizations.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a respiratory viral surveillance expert for GRVB, supporting both research and non-research initiatives.
  • Act as the primary point-of-contact for collaborations with Ministries of Health in South and Central America and other regions as needed.
  • Provide technical support to international partners (e.g., UCSF, TEPHINET, PAHO) on proposal development, activity planning, data analysis, and scientific writing.
  • Liaise with U.S. Government partners, including CDC regional and country offices and U.S. embassies.
  • Develop and support protocols and guidance documents for respiratory viral surveillance.
  • Offer strategic guidance on laboratory components of sentinel, universal, and event-based surveillance.
  • Coordinate GRVB activities across teams and regions.
  • Support the development and delivery of surveillance training programs globally.
  • Participate in public health emergency responses both domestically and internationally.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic feedback to GRVB leadership.
  • Travel internationally up to 25-30% of the time to support technical assistance and training workshops.


Required Qualifications:

  • PhD/MD with 10+ years of experience.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Work experience in consultant, epidemiologist, medical epidemiologist, public health advisor, or related field (preferably in a public health setting.
  • Experience with clinical data.
  • Ability to work in a public health emergency response environment.
  • Ability to identify gaps in existing resources.
  • Ability to be flexible.
  • Interpersonal communication: telephone, email, and business etiquette.
  • Strong proofreading skill and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience working with CDC staff at multiple organizational levels.
  • Experience in facilitating quick turn-around for complex documents.
