Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic senior Contracts Business Manager to lead our contract operations and ensure the effective negotiation, execution, and management of contracts across the organization. This pivotal role requires a proactive leader with a strong understanding of legal compliance, risk management, and business operations.

Pay: $85,000 annually

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm

Full-Time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. In addition, these positions are eligible for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, holiday, floating holiday, jury duty, and bereavement leave. JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager III, Contracts Business will be highly skilled and strategic, lead Goodwill of Colorado's contract operations and ensure the effective negotiation, execution, and management of contracts (Commercial, Federal, and/or State Set Aside) across the organization. This pivotal role requires a proactive leader with a strong understanding of legal compliance, risk management, and business operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Contract Oversight:



  • Assist with drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Manage contracts and subcontracts.
  • Oversee the full contract lifecycle from initiation to closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), State of Colorado, and internal policies.


Operational Leadership:



  • Implement contract management policies and procedures that align with division business goals and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.


Risk and Compliance:



  • Proactively identify and mitigate contractual risks.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Performance and Reporting
  • Monitor contract performance and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Generate reports and insights for senior leadership.
  • Manage contract renewals, amendments, terminations, and performance reviews.
  • Team and Relationship Management.
  • Lead and mentor a team of contract professionals.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners.
  • Resolve disputes and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.


HR and Administrative Oversight:



  • Support Human Resources (HR) functions including hiring, training, and performance reviews.
  • Manage employee documentation and ensure labor law compliance.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage employee relations.


Financial and Business Acumen:



  • Track overhead, unemployment, and worker's comp rates.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost control.
  • Manage accounts payable/receivables, accruals, and audits.


Operational Oversight:



  • Support business development and project execution.
  • Oversee equipment procurement and maintenance.
  • Assist in the operational management of a 200+ employee, $16M/year division.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A Bachelor's degree in business, law, finance, or related field is required.


Experience:



  • 5+ years of experience in contracts management or a related senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), various contract types (FFP, CP, T&M), and government contracting.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.


Other:



  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management software, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in commercial custodial services, laundry operations, and vehicle fleet operations.
  • Familiarity with HR processes and financial reporting/budgeting.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
