Overview
The successful candidate will work as a team member to provide developmentally appropriate experiences for children that stimulate their physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs. This position is located on the USU Brigham City Campus.

Responsibilities
  • Incumbent will be responsible for the care of children ages 0-10 years of age.
  • Maintain a set part-time schedule, which will include evenings; must also be available on-call during open hours.
  • Seek professional development through Child Care Resource and Referral Career Ladder.
  • Develop age appropriate lesson plans to stimulate the developmental progress, as well as provide a well-rounded day of activities for children ages 0-10 years.
  • Work with challenging behaviors to teach appropriate behavior and redirect if needed.
  • Oversee Assistant Teachers to interpret behaviors, ensure they are working appropriately with children, and redirect if needed.
  • Ensure families receive adequate information about their child's experiences at the center through daily contact.
  • Has the authority to operate the center as the Director Designee in the absence of the Director.
  • Secure the health, safety, welfare, and accountability of children through constant supervision and effective arrangement of space.
  • Ensure that the daily schedule is followed.
  • Implement the weekly lesson plan.
  • Schedule and cover for staff breaks.
  • Maintain record of daily/weekly cleaning.
  • Maintain record of daily snack count.
  • Ensure that daily infant records are being maintained.
  • Oversee the check-in and check-out procedure for children.
  • Prepare snacks that follow food program guidelines.
  • Ensure state required teacher to child ratios are maintained.
  • Attend staff meeting and staff trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Have an associate degree or equivalent (60 college credits, with 30 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education or a related field) OR have a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) awarded by the council for Professional Recognition or equivalent (minimum of 12 college credits in early childhood education or early childhood special education).
  • Must be able to create and carry out lesson plans.
  • Must have the ability to work well with other teachers and with children.
  • Exhibit understanding of Child Development.
  • Supports a team approach and exhibits maturity that effectively communicates, problem-solves and anticipates the needs of fellow teaching staff, practicum students, volunteers, and the center program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Maintain a set part-time schedule, which will include evenings and also available on-call during opening hours.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Be enrolled in a program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, early childhood special education or a related field.
  • Prefer experience in the Little Brigham Aggies ECE.
  • Have a current CPR and First-Aid certification.
  • Have a current Food Handler's Permit.
  • Have a baccaluareate degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, child development, elementary education, early childhood special education, or a related field OR equivalent (a baccalaureate degree in any discipline, with a minimum of 36 college credits in early childhood education
