How You'll Contribute:

The Engineer in Charge (EIC) serves as the on-site technical lead responsible for the end-to-end performance, reliability, and support of broadcast, studio, control room, Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), AV systems, digital signage, and LED display technologies. This role ensures seamless execution of both live events and recorded productions, providing comprehensive Level 1 and Level 2 engineering support. The EIC works directly with production teams, technical staff, and vendors to deliver high-quality media experiences and system reliability across all platforms.

What You'll Do:




  • Live Events & Studio Operations


    • Oversee daily operation of studio and control room infrastructure for live and pre-recorded productions.
    • Ensure signal integrity, video/audio quality, and seamless handoffs between control systems and field production.
    • Support integration and performance of broadcast tools including video switchers, routers, audio consoles, intercoms, graphics, streaming encoders, and monitoring systems.


  • Control Room & MTR Oversight


    • Maintain and troubleshoot control room systems including Microsoft Teams Rooms used for live meetings, hybrid events, and streaming.
    • Ensure optimal setup, signal routing, and encoding/decoding functionality for video conferencing and remote production.


  • AV & Digital Media Supports


    • Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 support for audiovisual systems across studios, control rooms, meeting spaces, and event environments-troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing system resets, and managing routine maintenance and updates.
    • Provide hands-on technical support during high-profile meetings and events, collaborate with cross-functional teams for escalation and resolution,


  • Digital Signage & LED Walls


    • Maintain digital signage content delivery networks and ensure proper functionality of LED walls and display systems.
    • Support content scheduling, player diagnostics, calibration, and remote troubleshooting of signage platforms.
    • Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure all production-critical systems meet operational readiness.


  • Maintenance & Escalation


    • Perform routine system testing, break/fix response, firmware updates, and root cause analysis.
    • Serve as point of escalation for critical issues, working with manufacturers and service providers as needed.


  • Cross-Team Coordination


    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including producers, technical directors, and IT/AV teams to fulfill production needs.
    • Supervise third-party vendors and freelance technicians to ensure work quality and technical compliance.


  • Documentation & Reporting


    • Maintain logs of system configurations, maintenance schedules, incident reports, and upgrade plans.
    • Deliver regular status updates to management and client representatives.




What You'll Bring:

Required Skills/Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience in a broadcast, AV engineering, or media production technical leadership role
  • Deep understanding of broadcast signal flow, video/audio transmission standards (SDI, SMPTE 2110, AES, MADI), and IP-based media workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, digital signage platforms, and LED display technologies
  • Familiarity with industry-standard broadcast platforms such as Ross Video, Tricaster, Evertz, Grass Valley, AJA, and similar technologies.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting IP-based media networks and AV signal flow
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel, translating complex language for non-technical stakeholders and work effectively across teams.
  • Experience working in high-pressure, time-sensitive live production environments, with the ability to manage real-time troubleshooting and rapid escalation.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects under tight production timelines
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and supporting physical system installs as needed



Preferred Certifications



  • CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I
  • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Ross, Crestron, QSC, Microsoft Teams Rooms)
