Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Lab Technician to play a pivotal role in supporting the development & validation of innovative product designs and the development of custom test fixtures within our Research and Development team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers to ensure the reliability and functionality of designs through prototyping, testing and troubleshooting. You will also provide valuable technical insights and guidance on design concepts, leveraging your expertise to refine and improve system performance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, inquisitive, and an excellent communicator who can effectively bridge technical knowledge across diverse teams, including operations, engineers, and management.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with New Product Development teams and embrace a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Prototyping and Assembly: Assembling and testing electronic circuits, PCBs and systems as part of the product development process.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems, including PCBs, dosing pumps, controllers, and other sophisticated equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Testing and Validation: Develop, and perform testing procedures for systems and components, document findings, and recommend improvements.
- Test Fixture Design: Lead the design, wiring, and construction of custom test fixtures to support complex R&D projects.
- Collaboration: Working closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to develop and refine designs.
- Compliance Testing: Conducting tests to ensure products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Support: Providing technical support and guidance to other team members and departments as needed.
- Utilize pneumatic and electric powered and manual hand tools (soldering iron, drill, impact driver, saw, wrench, ratchet, torque wrench, hammer, punch, tap / die, etc.)
- Willing to learn new skills and abilities if candidate does not currently have experience with all areas of responsibility.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics assembly, design, troubleshooting, and testing, preferably in an R&D or laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools, electronic test equipment, and machinery.
- Electrical and Mechanical aptitude.
- Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
- Self-motivated, inquisitive, and capable of engaging in multiple projects simultaneously.
- Possess willingness to learn new skills and abilities.
Preferences:
- Experience with fluid systems, electrical dosing pumps, or similar equipment.
- Familiarity with PCB troubleshooting, soldering, wiring, or embedded systems.
- Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisor, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

- Ability to push or pull up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to see or have vision corrected with glasses/contacts to an evaluated level of no worse than 20/35.
