The core accountability of the Senior Payroll Specialist is to accurately process the payroll for multiple, complex multi-state corporate companies in Workday Payroll. The Senior Payroll Specialist will be the liaison for the payroll provider and the day-to-day administration and payroll enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as payroll subject matter expert in working with business partners on projects and process improvement opportunities.
  • Identifies the need for new payroll procedures or necessary communications and reports them to management.
  • Processes payroll using Workday.
  • Supports complex payroll related processes and issues.
  • Follow up with timekeepers and managers to ensure procedures are followed timely and accurately.
  • Responsible for complete auditing of time entries, special earnings and other requests from management in Workday Payroll on a biwee.
  • Audit and validate time entry information regarding worked and non-worked hours (PTO, vacation, sick etc.) from time tracking to ensure accuracy of employees payments.
  • Reviews, monitors and validates transactions initiated by other payroll specialist.
  • Assists the payroll function by proactively identifying potential payroll issues and correcting any errors prior to confirming the payroll transactions.
  • Acts as a payroll expert concerning wage and hour laws as well as other payroll related topics to service customers with their payroll related questions.
  • Maintains customer contacts for corporate payroll for questions, payroll check and reporting distribution.
  • Generates off cycle payment transactions, as required by customers.
  • Sends communication and manage process for reviewing employees for special annual payments/updates (club dues, personal auto usage of company vehicle, etc.).
  • Maintains documents and procedures followed within the Payroll Operations area.
  • Interacts with employees and internal partners regarding questions about payroll.
  • Produces reports as needed and/or directed for internal customers.
  • Monitors and responds to the CPAY Corporate email inbox and Service Now ticketing system.
  • Researches and resolves pay discrepancies.
  • Updates leave balances as requested by HR division leaders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned depending on department and business needs.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years' experience; or 7 years' experience in a related field
  • Three years' experience with Workday employee life cycle and Workday Payroll
  • Experience using one or more of the following: Workday time tracking and absence, Ticketing System (Service Now, ZenDesk, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent customer service, verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and respond to varied demands.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Service Now experience
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)


USD 26.06 - 39.13 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly base pay rate is $26.06 - $39.13/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
