This position will be a part of the UAW union moving forward. Seventh College, established in 2019, is one of UC San Diego's newest undergraduate colleges. The College's theme, "A Changing Planet," addresses a wide array of urgent global issues, including climate change, mass migration, and swift cultural and technological shifts. Seventh College aims to equip students with the necessary skills to tackle these challenges from an interdisciplinary standpoint, with ample opportunities for project-based learning and research to develop essential academic and practical skills. The College staff offers engagement opportunities, programs, and services that bolster this educational mission, fostering students' growth in educational, personal, cultural, and social aspects. The Coordinator of Student Activities (CSA) plays a key role in fostering community at Seventh College, acting as an advisor to student organizations and programming groups under the Seventh College Student Council, including the Events Board and Spirit Board.This position is integral to the team that facilitates the development of student council and organizational initiatives, including large-scale programs, concerts, and festivals. Additionally, this role assists students in the registration and formation of new organizations at Seventh College. As an advisor, the CSA, is responsible for assisting in the creation of leadership, community engagement, transition, and professional growth programs tailored to meet diverse needs of Seventh College students. The CSA will contribute to the development and execution of leadership and personal growth programs, such as training for student organizations and retreats, encompassing areas like communication, leadership abilities, conflict resolution, and instruction on campus policies, risk management, and budgeting. The CSA is responsible for planning and oversight of signature events at the College (including Welcome Week, Spirit Night, College Bowl, and Earth Week) and serves as the main liaison for campus-wide program collaborations, the CSA will organize, execute, and assess both new and ongoing social, cultural, academic, wellness, service, and civic engagement initiatives for the students of Seventh College. Additionally, the CSA supports student-focused program committees, ensures effective publicity and evaluation of college events, programs, and activities, consults and participates in other programs as designated and may provide direction to the Student Affairs undergraduate interns. As a member of the Student Affairs staff, the CSA will serve as an active, contributing member of the Seventh College Dean of Student Affairs staff. Attending staff meetings and training sessions. Supporting College events, including Triton Days, Orientation, Family Weekend, Alumni Weekend, College Night, and Commencement. Planning and overseeing annual college events as required. This position works closely with College staff in the Provost's Office, Residential Life, Academic Advising, the Seventh Writing Program, and Student Affairs and represents Seventh College at weekly Council of CSA meetings and Undergraduate College program initiatives. Frequent evenings & weekend hours as required by student organizations and programs. QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $53,800 - $91,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $25.77 - $43.58 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
