Purpose of the Job

The Deposit Administration Mail and ATM Support Specialist is responsible for providing support to a multitude of back office processes. Specialists are experts in smart ATM processes, mail in deposits and they are also responsible for batching checks, balancing GLs, and communicating with the accounting and finance department when needed. The Mail and ATM Support Specialists are the first defense against fraud as it relates to their job duties.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Displays exceptional member relation skills both internally and externally by handling issues at point of contact, utilizes vital basics behaviors, and helps to foster a positive teamwork environment.

  • Adheres to security procedures in all transactions and member inquiries by properly identifying all members, preparing incident reports as needed and identifying fraudulent items.

  • Completes Contact Center mail activity requests which includes ACH Stop Payment form, check book registers, check book covers, statements, deposit slips and check copies.

  • Reviews and processes mailed in deposits and loan payments.

  • Distributes Credit Union returned mail to appropriate departments.

  • Reviews deposit images for smart ATMs, releasing holds or extending holds as needed.

  • Researches checks that need to be adjusted from Smart ATM and manually updates accounts and notifies appropriate departments of adjustments and general ledger transfers.

  • Reviews ATM deposits, mailed-in checks, for fraud and follows all security and fraud prevention requirements in order to protect the Credit Union and members.

  • Completes Verification of Deposit requests for mortgage companies, government offices, apartment complexes and deposit and loan account information for members.

  • Reviews and updates Vanco ACH payments.

  • Prints and mails batch checks daily.

  • Processes Dealertrak payments

  • Processes Employee Credit Card Payments

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with other tasks and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written

  • Must have understanding of credit union operations, financial products, services and delivery systems

  • Must have basic arithmetic skills

  • Must have basic PC skills, with beginning level knowledge on Microsoft Excel and Outlook

  • Must have ability to work well under pressure in a goal-oriented environment

  • Must have ability to understand all business processes within the credit union

  • Must be detail oriented and well organized, with the ability to multi-task

  • Must be able to work in a general office environment

  • Must be flexible and able to shift resources and priorities as required

  • Must be able to complete all assignments with minimal supervision

  • Should possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant's members

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer

  • Must be able to use a telephone and wear a phone audio headset

  • Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds

Education and Background

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Previous call center experience preferred

  • Previous experience in the financial industry preferred
