The Aviation Military Analyst will support the mission of the AVCOE G5 and training brigades and Capability Development and Integration Directorate (CDID) by providing analysis, assessment, coordination, and support for functions related to Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policies (DOTMLPF-P) to enhance analysis, assessment, coordination, integration, synchronization, interconnectivity, and program development between AVCOE and the relevant Community of Practice (CoP).

Please note:Candidates must already reside within a commutable distance to Fort Novosel, AL, or be willing to relocate at their own expense prior to the start date, as this position requires regular on-site support.

ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:



  • Coordinate with AVCOE Directorates, Brigade Commanders, ACMs, and Program Managers (PMs) to assist in the synchronization and updating of the Aviation Enterprise Common Operating Picture
  • Develop and deliver executive-level (2-4 Star) briefings, speeches, and articles on Army Aviation operations, training, doctrine, and program management within TRADOC
  • Research and write speeches, presentations, and written materials for Army executives, including official remarks, congressional testimony, and publications
  • Conduct in-depth research on military strategy, operations, and policy to support executive communications and program development
  • Write clear, concise, and audience-appropriate content across formats and forums
  • Participate in meetings, briefings, reviews, and Individual Transition Plans (ITPs)
  • Prepare detailed reports, information papers, executive summaries, presentations, handouts, and recommendations
  • Use frameworks like the Aviation Enterprise Synchronization Model to interface with AVCOE leadership, HQDA, TRADOC, FORSCOM, AMCOM, AMC, PEO Aviation, CDID, USASOAC, and TAPO
  • Collaborate with Senior Leaders, Agencies, and Action Officers throughout the Aviation Enterprise
  • Ensure proper dissemination of Warning Orders, Operation Orders, and Fragmentary Orders to AVCOE organizations
  • Represent the G5 in working groups and In-Progress Reviews (IPRs) focused on DOTMLPF-P analysis and integration
  • Serve as an action officer on the AVCOE G5 staff, coordinating and synchronizing training efforts across AVCOE and tenant organizations
  • Coordinate cross-enterprise efforts with Army Staff, AMCOM, PEO Aviation, USASOAC, and CDID
  • Liaise with Program Executive Officers (PEOs) on fielding, training development, life-cycle support costs, budget planning via PPBES, POMs, and UFRs
  • Establish and maintain a Quality Control Program (QCP)
  • Track and report program and financial management activities in Monthly Status Reports


Required Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):



  • BA/BS degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of aviation experience as a senior planner or military analyst
  • Must have served as a Commissioned Officer in the Aviation Branch (Rotary or Fixed Wing) in the Active Army
  • Army and Aviation experience required
  • Experience developing 2-4 Star-level briefings, speeches, and publications for Army Aviation leadership
  • In-depth understanding of Army Aviation combat operations and doctrinal application across operational echelons, including enemy tactics and capabilities
  • Expert-level research and executive communication skills
  • Ability to respond to high-priority, short-turn tasks with speed and accuracy
  • Strong understanding of DOTMLPF-P assessments and Aviation operations
  • Familiarity with Aviation Transformation initiatives and the future direction of the branch
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated success collaborating across functions in mission-oriented environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams


Preferred Qualifications:



  • MA/MS degree a plus
  • Previous service on AVCOE Staff strongly preferred
  • Experience serving on the Army or Joint Staff


Clearance Requirements:



  • Active Secret clearance required


Work Environment:

The primary work location of this position is on-site at Ft. Novosel, Alabama (AL).Please Note: All applicants must be within a travelable distance to the work location.
