Thrive@Carolina Campus Hubs (Hubs), which includes Academic Advising, a collaborative and innovative approach to deliver holistic support to undergraduates from admission through graduation. We represent a deliberately integrated effort that embraces delivering services in a manner that welcomes experimentation, is scalable and focuses on continuous improvement. Nestled within the College of Arts & Sciences, Hubs are comprised of ~60 full- and part-time personnel and serve students in a variety of campus locations. |
Position Summary |
This Administrative Support Associate position serves as the initial contact for the
UNC Advising department and is responsible for reception and general office duties. As the first point of contact for students and visitors, this position will greet and check students in for in-person meetings with Thrive Advisors. They will also respond to questions from students and visitors in-person, by phone, and by email. This position maintains basic office supplies, inputs information into online records database, processes requests from students, and provides general program support for
UNC Advising. They may also provide administrative support for various departmental projects. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
The successful candidate should have previous customer service experience and strong written and verbal communication skills. They should have keen attention to detail and the ability to successfully work as part of a team. Training and experience with
UNC applications such as Infoporte and Connect Carolina is preferred. Familiarity with
UNC Business Operations and ideally, College of Arts & Sciences processes and procedures is also a plus. |
