This is a Part Time Project Coordinator position on the SAE Foundation team to support the initiatives and goals of the Fundraising, and Awards & Scholarships staff. The incumbent will work directly with the team to assist in day-to-day operating functions by providing a wide range of administrative, outreach, and research support, including development of communications to internal stakeholders and external constituents, proactively monitor and contribute to external communications, special activity project management, and research prospective funding sources and, under direction from development officers, help prepare initial drafts of funding proposals.
This position will have opportunities to engage with members of various SAE Business Units as well as external stakeholders and those served through the SAE STEM mission.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Identify, research, develop communications, and draft correspondence to prospect companies/foundations and potential sources of funding in target industry sectors or geographic areas
- Work with the team to develop stories of impact around the STEM education mission, interviewing external participants, recipients, etc, drafting story to review with SAE and external stakeholders, finding images and securing required publicity consent, and publishing in multiple channels
- Create new and repurpose existing Foundation and Pre-Professional Education content across established internal and external communication channels (e.g. Quarterly Fdn newsletter, Website, Update, Social Media, SAE SmartBrief, Member Connection, partner communications, press/media)
- Work independently and within a team to support special, and ongoing projects, campaigns, events, reporting/analysis, and communications (e.g. Display Tables and Shipments, Volunteer Recruitment, AmeriCorps Program, Annual Report, Annual Celebration, Awards Ceremonies, Donor Appreciation, Annual Appeal, Pi Day, SAE STEM@Home)
- Research/school/community-based organizations to identify contacts, gather demographic information and conduct outreach with guidance to introduce PreK-12 programs to support existing and new funding opportunities
- Support the SAE Awards and Scholarship program by utilizing applicant portal, generating reports, participating in application vetting process and assist with outward communications to recipients and universities
- Organize awardee and special event participant bios, LinkedIn profiles, photos, company logos, and other relevant materials for participation in ceremonies, celebrations, or other events
- Maintain sound organizational management and documentation systems and practices
- Support program site relationships including monitoring, reporting, and coordinating training
- Implement a comprehensive outreach strategy to build awareness, engage schools/CBOs, recruit/onboard/engage/convert volunteers
- Support data collection and performance measurement on program outputs/outcomes for donor reporting, stewardship and growth strategy
- Become proficient in the use of internal applications and processes (e.g. WorkFront, Word Press, Teams, Office 365, etc.)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Working toward Associate or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration/Management, Nonprofit Management or Education (preferred)
- Excellent written communication skills
- Experience publishing across social platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube), required
- Strong process orientation, organizational and planning skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to adapt to continuously changing deadlines and priorities
- Detail and results-oriented
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in marketing, communications, and fundraising
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Part-time position (10-20 hours per week) with flexible scheduling options
- Hybrid/remote work environment, with occasional on-site attendance for special events or meetings as needed
