Position Overview
The purpose of the Local Marketing Engagement Specialist is to provide leadership and direction on the development and execution of local marketing strategies for Follett-managed stores located within the assigned region. They are to ensure that each campus store in the region actively participates within their university's campus and local community. This position will report directly to the Group Vice President, with dotted line reporting to the Director of Consumer Marketing.
Responsibilities
* Day-to-day management of store-level field marketing associates, including overseeing the development, execution, and reporting of all marketing strategies. (Store manager to retain primary management of individual associates).
* Develop and maintain relationships with the Consumer Marketing team for the execution of all email and mobile campaigns, the facilitation of ideas and best practices, and to ensure flawless execution of national marketing programs at the local level.
* Source, coordinate and monitor progress of outside agencies and/or vendors to ensure timely completion of work, consistent communication and continuity of all activities.
* All local marketing activities for selected schools within the assigned region including in-store, on-campus and social media activities as well as oversight of local marketing budgets.
* Coordinate with the Group Vice President and Director of Consumer Marketing to hire, train, and onboard store-level marketing staff.
* Develop relationships with campus contacts of all assigned schools to further each store's marketing opportunities and efforts.
* Monitor industry trends and best practices, including local competitor offerings, to ensure that our local marketing programs remain relevant and meet or exceed the sales and margin objectives.
* Responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies for those assigned schools without store marketing staff.
* Ensure that all developed local marketing plans are statistically sound, measurable, and provide actionable information relevant to marketing objectives and ROI. Manage internal expectations accordingly.
* Develop strong relationships with other regional and group marketing managers for the facilitation of ideas, best practices, etc.
* Develop and maintain relationships with the Consumer Marketing team for the execution of all email and mobile campaigns, the facilitation of ideas and best practices, and to ensure flawless execution of national marketing programs at the local level.
* Ensure all marketing strategies are developed through understanding customer needs, satisfaction drivers, and performance requirements in correlation with business objectives.
* Continually improve creative design strategy so as to distinguish Follett from competitors. Ensure work is consistent with the overall marketing strategy and established brand guidelines.
