POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Berks, Division of Science, invites applications for a full-time, one-year, non-tenure-line position at the rank of Instructor/Assistant Teaching Professor of Biology. This position is a thirty-six-week appointment for the 2025-2026 academic year, with August 2025 as the start date. Primary teaching responsibilities include 12 credits per semester of lecture and laboratory courses in introductory biology and plant and animal physiology. Because Penn State Berks has a growing number of Latino/a and first-generation students, candidates with experience and interest in working with this population are strongly desired.

Applicants should have at least a master's degree in biology or related field. Candidates for the position at the rank of Instructor will possess a master's degreeand candidates for the position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor will possess a terminal/doctorate degree.

Penn State Berks (https://berks.psu.edu/) is a residential campus that offers a Penn State education in a smaller, more intimate setting. Berks offers 20 baccalaureate degrees, four associate degrees, and a wide-range of minors. Students also have the opportunity to complete the first two years of more than 275+ baccalaureate degree programs offered by Penn State, University Park. The campus is in Reading, PA and is approximately 1.5 hours from Philadelphia and 2.5 hours from New York City. It's known for its focus on engaged learning, offering opportunities for students to connect with faculty, conduct research, and gain practical experience through internships.
