Position Overview:

Ameresco has an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Analyst to join our Corporate Accounting Team. This position is hybrid and based in our Framingham, MA office. Under the direction of the Senior Accounting Manager, the AP Analyst processes invoices, performs analysis and reconciles vendor accounts. The AP Analyst is responsible for timely, accurate, and complete reconciliation of vendor accounts, including handling transactions for multiple companies. In addition, the AP Analyst provides superior customer service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices including subcontractor payment applications.

  • Perform detailed analyses of vendor accounts and payments.

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to recognize and resolve issues with vendor accounts; invoices and payments.

  • Monitor Aging and other reports to identify and drive efforts to reduce late payments and work with project managers to resolve issues.

  • Research and resolve returned checks.

  • Reach out to vendors to resolve uncashed checks; submit stop payment requests as needed.

  • Research vendor refunds for assigned book of business and provide correct accounting to AR Analyst.

  • Participate in testing efforts, reporting defects, and working with IT to resolve issues.

  • Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers; deliver superior customer service by responding timely and accurately to vendor inquiries.

  • Foster a positive environment with open communication.

  • Provide training to new team members.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of accounting and financial concepts.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; especially excel.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
