Overview
Director (Program Coordinator II) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Child Care Resource Agency, serving Eastern Utah. This grant funded leadership role ensures support services encouraging quality child care, compliance with state/federal regulations, effective stakeholder engagement, and successful financial and programmatic outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Execute the duties and tasks of the Child Care Resource Agency (formerly Care About Child Care) grant ensuring compliance with the grant scope of work.
  • Oversee and support staff in the work contracted with Utah Office of Child Care. Hire and train new staff.
  • Budget development and accountability.
  • Represent Child Care Resource Agency, Eastern Region, at local and State level meetings
  • Travel throughout region (Daggett, Uintah, Duchesne, Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan Counties) to support, educate and work on issues dealing with child care.
  • Follow all policies and procedures of Utah State University.
  • Other duties as need arises or as assigned.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood/elementary education or closely related field plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combinatin of education plus experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Early Childhood or closely related field.
  • Three-years' experience in early childhood/elementary classroom or child care setting.
  • Two-years leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and technology skills.
  • Effective written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to problem solve, maintain a budget and work cooperatively with fellow staff members and State Office of Child Care leaders.
  • Knowledgeable of current regulations impacting the child care community.
  • Knowledge of best practices for home and center child care programs.
