Role Overview

As Database Administrator, you will contribute to Sirva's success by designing, deploying, monitoring, maintaining and tuning databases while ensuring high levels of data security, integrity, performance and availability. You will also collaborate with project and development teams across the organization to support application development, deployment and troubleshooting.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

15%

Implement - deploy new or upgraded SQL database servers, create new databases to support Sirva projects.

20%

Maintain - Apply SQL patches to maintain software currency, investigate and apply database tuning to improve performance, security and reliability.

60%

Support - troubleshoot database issues, support development teams, run SQL scripts for code deployments and production support.

5%

Governance - technical and process documentation, reporting, process review and improvement

Qualifications and Preferred Skills



  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information systems or related certifications.
  • 5+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration in a global, 24x7 Microsoft Windows-based environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure database technologies.
  • Expert understanding of database high-availability and disaster recovery techniques (clustering, replication, Always On etc.).
  • Excellent database troubleshooting and analytical ability including query performance troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Strong technical and process documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate successfully in a self-directed environment and complete tasks on time and with quality.
  • Strong customer service and inter-personal communication skills.
  • Must be fluent (written and verbal) in English.

  • Position Title: Database Administrator
  • Salary Range: $81,000-$101,000 USD
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Employer HSA Match, Life & Disability Insurance, Paid Time Off, Volunteer Time Off, ID Theft Protection Plan and more. Benefits are based on employment status and may not be available for temporary or part-time employees.



Salary ranges may vary based on location, market conditions, and other factors such as experience and qualifications. The final compensation will be determined during the hiring process based on these considerations.
