The Lieutenant of Patrol provides critical leadership and operational oversight for FSUPD's patrol division, including two rotating shifts of uniformed officers, bike and motor units, and the K-9 team. • Participate in FSUPD's Command Staff, contributing to policy implementation and strategy
  • Complete operational and statistical reports (e.g., game day enforcement, Board of Governors, SACS)
  • Oversee fleet and equipment maintenance in collaboration with the department fleet manager
  • Engage directly with young officers - coaching, developing, and reinforcing departmental values

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of sworn law enforcement experience, OR
  • High school diploma/equivalent and 8 years of sworn law enforcement experience (or a combination totaling 8 years)
  • Must meet the requirements of Section 943.13, Florida Statutes
