Position Purpose
To provide curricular and administrative support for implementation and delivery of courses in the Geisel School of Medicine's Phase 1 pre-clerkship curriculum for MD students. Partners with faculty course leaders to support ongoing monitoring, review, and revision of the curriculum. Contributes to academic operations that deliver a personal, connected and transformative learning experience for students.

Key Accountabilities


Description
Course Development, Technology and Implementation

  • Collaborates directly with course leaders and other members of the instructional team to initiate, prepare, review, and monitor course preparation and implementation.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for teaching faculty and students, offering knowledgeable support on course logistics, instructional materials, and scheduling to ensure a high-quality educational experience.
  • Proofreads materials and responds to faculty inquiries for services and other activities associated with achieving academic support priorities.
  • Builds and maintains courses in the Canvas Learning Management System and is accountable for accurately monitoring the delivery of the content, such as session pages, quizzes, sections, and groups, and monitoring gradebook and assignments.
  • Manages the building of academic courses in OASIS, accountable for accuracy of curriculum inventory, creating and maintaining student small groups, accounting of faculty teaching sessions, and scheduling recordings.
  • Supports curriculum mapping by maintaining accurate documentation of session objectives, content coverage, and assessment methods in compliance with LCME accreditation requirements.
  • Facilitates delivery of course sessions by creating and managing Zoom meetings, including polls and breakout rooms, and transferring faculty files to classroom computer desktops using Splashtop.
  • Oversees the creation of room reservations using EMS, monitoring, and resolving conflicts.
  • Collaborates with course leaders to develop, implement, and disseminate Qualtrics-based surveys related to course activities.

Assessment Activities

  • Facilitates assessment activities such as proctoring exams and review sessions, ensuring defined protocols and designated student accommodations are effectively implemented.
  • Performs administrative functions associated with assessment activities.
  • Supports continuous quality improvement of assessment procedures, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, and proposing solutions for improvement implementation practices.

Description
Communication and Project Support

  • Serves as a point of contact for students and faculty, effectively communicating to address questions related to Phase 1 pre-clerkship curricula.
  • Coordinates, attends, and participates in curricular meetings as requested (e.g, curriculum committee).
  • Supports projects related to institutional initiatives and Medical Education curriculum, such as scheduling and assisting with Geisel's student-facing events, distributing materials, etc.
  • Contributes ideas, input and support to initiatives, decisions, and communication with academic coordination implications.
  • Handles confidential or sensitive information, exercises discretion concerning its disposition, following FERPA guidelines.
  • Applies and explains institutional policies and procedures relevant to role.
