Job Title: Regional Manager, Machine Safety Standards
Location: Northville, Michigan

The Regional Manager, Machine Safety Standards provides machine safety and specialist support to all Business Unit locations within their Region, assists the Site TMSS Coordinators and Plants' Leadership in identifying and managing machine safety and technical improvement projects, training and managing performance-tracking tools (EHS databases), conducting machine safety compliance audits, following the TMSS assessment protocol and assuring accurate and complete reporting of metrics. The incumbent provides support in the investigation of EHS Events within the Region, communication of regulatory requirements, providing necessary support to EHS high risk programs and supporting local EHS site leads in technical aspects.
The position may be based in Northville, Michigan and reports directly to the Global Health and Safety Senior Manager of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible to provide machine safety and specialist technical and tactical support within their assigned region. Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Provides process support for high-risk programs within the Region including defining the need for training, supporting machine safety assessments and providing expert support in machine safety system design.
* Communicates company directives and regulatory requirements to all the sites in the Region.
* Assists the Site TMSS Coordinator in developing, assessing, and approving proposed technical upgrades in machine safety for compliance with applicable EHS standards, both local and corporate.
* Facilitates process and provides technical and administrative services such as assessments of electrical & hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic systems, guarding and EHS cardinal rules.
* Facilitates regional forums for knowledge transfer and best practices sharing along with general integration of Tenneco EHS Directives.
* Support and advice business units within the region to achieve their machine safety related goals.
* Track timely and accurate reporting mechanisms in support of the different business strategic initiatives designed to produce verifiable world-class performance.
* Provides risk mitigation support to Site EHS Leaders.
* Builds organization capability by providing TMSS/EHS technical training and development of TMSS/EHS professionals to ensure each site within the Region has the appropriate technical and functional competencies.
* Leads the deployment strategy and plan for successful cross-functional implementation of the Tenneco EHS Directives/Documentation requirements within the Region.
* Collaborates with the Global EHS Technical Manager in establishing and promoting corporate directives on Machine Safety.
* Supports the investigation process of incidents (including near misses, releases, and losses) and accidents to determine root causes and support the development of corrective and preventive action plans.
* Assists sites in compliance verifications for new and refurbished equipment.

Minimum Requirements

Education: 4-year degree (or equivalent by experience) in a technical / electrical / electronic discipline.

Experience:
* 7+ years of experience with an emphasis on safety program management / maintenance / design.
* Proficient in reading, understanding and designing diagrams in the area of electrical / electronic systems.
* Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic system and PLC programming
* Understanding of latest machine safety legislation within the assigned region

Skills
* Must have clear communication and writing skills in English. Proficiency in local languages preferred.
* Strong team-building skills.
* Strong organizational skills including ability to manage large number of disparate projects and to track project through completion.
* Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proven facilitation skills including the ability to influence others.
* Ability to demonstrate managerial courage (e.g., managing varied interests with potential conflicts).
* Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement teams.
* Professional certification preferred (Certified Technician, Master in Machine Design or country equivalent).
