Overview
We are hiring a skilled Paving Equipment Operator to operate machinery used in the construction and maintenance of asphalt roads, parking lots, and other paved surfaces. This role requires safe and efficient operation of paving equipment such as asphalt pavers, rollers, and skid steers. The ideal candidate has experience in road construction, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
Safely operate various types of heavy equipment including Pavers, Rollers, and Skid steers depending on the project needs
- Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and report issues promptly
- Load, unload, and position equipment safely on job sites
- Work with the paving crew to ensure even asphalt distribution, proper compaction, and smooth finish
- Follow grade markers and layout specifications to achieve desired slope and thickness
- Maintain control of speed, feed, and depth of material application
- Assist with handwork or labor duties when equipment is not in use, including shoveling and raking
- Perform equipment maintenance as needed, including cleaning and greasing
- Comply with all safety regulations, traffic control procedures, and company policies
- Communicate clearly with crew members and foreman during paving operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience operating paving or heavy equipment preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain and dusty environments
- Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
- Must be reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to pass a drug test and adhere to safety standards
- Be able to work nights and weekends when necessary
- Be able to work overtime when required
- Communication skills: ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous professional manner at all times
- Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with all safety policies and procedures
