The John Chambers College of Business & Economics at West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for a non-tenure track Service Assistant Professor position in the General Business department beginning in Fall 2025. The ideal candidate has earned an advanced degree (M.A., M.S., or Ph.D.) in business, economics, philosophy, management, or a related field. They may also possess teaching and research interests including but not limited to measurement, political economy, general business, business ethics, philosophy of social science, and history of economic thought. A successful candidate will be a member of the general business department, be expected to engage in activity with the Kendrick Center for an Ethical Economy. (Please see: https://wvutoday.wvu.edu/stories/2022/02/22/wvu-announces-40m-partnership-to-expand-economics-education-through-innovative-chambers-college-programs) The primary responsibility will be to serve as a senior leadership partner to the Executive Director, driving the center's mission to promote prosperity and human flourishing in West Virginia through ethics and economics education, research, and outreach. This role combines strategic oversight, operational excellence, teaching, recruitment, data systems coordination, and academic leadership to ensure the center's flagship programs-Kendrick Fellows Program, Kendrick Educators Program, and ECON 201 high school outreach initiative-achieve measurable impact and long-term sustainability. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations will oversee programs, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, fundraise, teach, recruit, and serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and the center's goals. Candidates are expected to embrace a teaching philosophy grounded in experiential learning initiatives. The candidate is expected to effectively teach courses (in both person and online formats) at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and work with colleagues to support and enhance our innovative and engaging program culture, and rapid growth. The expected teaching load for this position is six credits per year. Key Responsibilities:
