POSITION SPECIFICS

The Clinical Research Coordinator provides operational oversight for research projects and activities within a department including oversight of project timelines and deliverables; coordination of workflows between research teams, external organizations, and stakeholders; budget management; facilitation of data collection and management plans; preparation and submission of grants, proposals, and compliance documents; records management and documentation of studies; and ensures program compliance with government regulations, university policies, and institutional review board requirements.

  • The Clinical Research Coordinator will provide support for research projects and activities within the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program.
  • Manage and safeguard data/patient information. Perform efficient data collection, extract treatment details from patients' medical records and enter data in a secure database to generate cumulative treatment summary for childhood cancer survivors.
  • Provides operational oversight for research projects and activities within the program including oversight of projects timelines and deliverables; coordination of workflows between research teams, external organizations, and stake holders; budget management; facilitation of data collection and management plans; preparation and submission of grants, proposals, and compliance documents; records management and documentation of studies; and ensures program compliance with government regulations, university policies, and institutional review board requirements.
  • Assist with establishing the Penn State Childhood Cancer Survivorship REDCap Registry, a data repository of survival, health and psychosocial outcomes, health behaviors, and SDOH, which will allow comprehensive collection of outcomes in childhood and AYA cancer survivors treated at Penn State Children's Hospital
  • Identify eligible subjects, recruitment, consenting, data collection and enrolling subjects in research studies.
  • Develop operating procedures and workflow processes to ensure that the scope and direction of the project is on schedule; monitor project progress and deliverables; generate reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and create documentation for projects including operating procedures, data collection forms, templates, clinical trial submissions, and manuals.
  • Author, review, and submit regulatory compliance documents and maintain communications with internal and external entities (IRB, ORA, NIH, Clinical Trials Office and HRPP), maintain relationships with governmental or regulatory agencies, research organizations, and central University offices.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve project issues; recommend and implement solutions.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

If filled as Clinical Research Coordinator - Intermediate Professional, this position requires: Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None If filled as Clinical Research Coordinator - Professional, this position requires: Bachelor's Degree No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $74,000.00.
