Introduction to the job
The EUV source team in San Diego operates in a fast-paced, uniquely innovative and challenging environment to create new-to-industry solutions with rapid production to support an aggressive commercialization plan for the EUV (Extreme Ultra Violet) technology within ASML. The Droplet Generation Department is responsible for the development and engineering of the automation and control of the droplet generation process as well as the mechanics and control system that steers the droplet stream to a precis location within the vacuum EUV source vessel. This enables production of EUV light. The complexity of the EUV source puts exciting and challenging demands on the Droplet Generation Project Lead who will be leading all phases of a project within the domain of droplet generation and steering control development and its integration. This involves precision mechanism and metrology, high speed electronics, real-time embedded software, and sophisticated control algorithms and state management logic, all working under extremely challenging dynamic conditions to produce stable and reliable droplets.
Role and responsibilities
Collaborate with the functional manager and technical architect as a "3 in-a box team" to develop project roadmaps, schedules, progress dashboards and risk assessments. Manage the relation with multiple stakeholders (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, CS, Finance) at tactical/strategic level by identifying and addressing cross-sector risks at Function level. Coordinate the Function's (not just a project's) deliverables with cross-sector projects/stakeholders (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, CS, Finance etc) and upper management to align with overall EUV program objectives. Maintain detailed knowledge of own Function's deliverables and with respect to the system by working closely with the other Project Leads within the Function to cover multiple source product generations and technology readiness levels, from inception to sustaining operation. Manage reporting of and assist in resolving all schedule, resource or competency impacts to help achieve the timely deliverables of the projects with a Function. Deliver progress reports and presentations to upper management and internal / external customers as a primary Function spokesperson. This includes summaries of escalations from the factory and field systems (customer-centric simplified summaries of same for our local teams). Ensure that the Function-level specifications and design documents are written, reviewed and delivered to proper teams in a timely manner. Ensure the project delivers according to our Product Generation Process (PGP) and Key Decision (KD) check gates, and rollup the Function's 6-quarter plans for accepted portfolio. Assist in interactions with key suppliers and out-sourcing development partners. Besides the above Function-level responsibilities, lead a critical Droplet Generation project to organize the tasks, schedule and budget planning; the team will consist of functional and competency architects and engineers from multiple engineering disciplines including Electronics, Software, and Mechanical.
Education and experience
Requires Minimum of BS in EE, Comp. Sci, Comp. Eng, Physics, ME, or other related engg. or science fields. MS or Ph.D in relevant field is a plus. Minimum of 12+ years related experience with at least 7+ years in technical project management and/or leadership roles. Minimum of 10+ years experience acceptable for MS and PhD candidates. International operating experience with complex programs, specifically involving multiple development locations, critical suppliers and global customer base Demonstrated understanding of Program Management principals and extensive experience in management of cross-functional + multi-disciplinary programs coordinating engineering, operations, field support, marketing, etc. Needs to work within the ASML tool set for project management, such as Microsoft Project. Experience with budget management for over $10M/year programs Effective executive and customer communication presence Experience with lithographic systems, laser system, control system, and/or semiconductor capital equipment is a plus.
Skills
Excellent leadership, organization & communications skills- written + verbal. Experience in MS Project a plus. Experience with AGILE/Scrum methodologies is a plus.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently: $158,250-263,750
Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
