Weekend Podcast Producer (Level 1 Journalist - Temp Guild)

Reuters is looking for a podcast producer with excellent audio editing skills and experience creating audio content for a TEMPORARY position to assist with the weekend expansion of our flagship podcast. Please note this shift pattern for this role is specifically to cover weekends.

You will be mining the vast reporting resources at one of the world's largest newsgathering organizations to deliver engaging podcast programming focused on what's happening in the world right now. You should be an avid consumer and have a clear understanding of news and current affairs podcasting.

This role will be based in our New York office.

About the Role

As aWeekend Podcast Producer, you will:

  • Record, edit and deliver audio content.
  • Pitch and develop story and content ideas for daily podcast programming
  • Work closely with Reuters reporters and external expert contributors
  • Write, sub and factcheck scripts
  • Voice program inserts, and occasionally capture audio in the field
  • Draft social media copy and help with the publication process
  • Ensure your work is accurate, timely and impartial
  • Work a schedule from Saturday to Wednesday starting early mornings.

About You

To be ourWeekend Podcast Producer,you will likely have:

  • Experience of working on podcasts with a news or current affairs focus
  • Strong audio editing skills, using software like Adobe Audition or Pro Tools
  • A passion for telling news and personal stories
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A track record of being a team player in a news production environment

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation hourly range for the role in any of those locations is $40 - $72/hr.
