Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Business Development Associate/Proposal Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role you will provide administrative and sales support for our environmental division. You will engage directly with clients and colleagues to drive growth within our organization.

In this role you will work with the Element Sales Team, General Managers and Operations teams to prepare formal proposals and to support the Sales team with quoting and management of inbound requests or enquiries related to sales. You will work to establish and strengthen client relations with new accounts and pursue opportunities to increase revenue from existing or dormant accounts. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, customer-focused and have strong organizational skills.



Responsibilities

    Ensure all proposal elements are completed on time, are of high quality, and are compliant with the request for proposal (RFP) requirements.
  • Maintain resource databases, files, and reference materials.
  • Coordinate the proposal development process, including tracking deadlines, conducting research, and managing internal review processes.
  • Work with subject matter experts to gather and integrate information into proposals.
  • Respond to inbound price requests from perspective clients.
  • Prepare quotes for the Element sales teams.
  • Support the development of marketing material and sell sheets.
  • Identify opportunities early in the sales cycle to ensure maximum share of wallet for Element.
  • Establish a rapport with potential customers and utilize technical support to assist in sales.
  • Actively utilize CRM to record activities, ensuring contact details and account information are accurate and current.
  • Provide administrative support to the sales leadership and business development team.
  • Find opportunities to grow our business by identifying new clients or markets to penetrate.
  • Build and maintain a working knowledge of Element's service offerings; participate in training/coaching opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all Element policies including but not limited to terms and conditions, trade compliance, treatment of others, moral code of conduct, and employee handbook.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws pertaining to safety, environment and corporate governance


Skills / Qualifications

  • Approximately 3-5 years of Inside Sales, Proposal Preparation or Account Management experience
  • Experience preparing complex RFPs and proposals
  • Excellent time management and the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer quotes, contracts, marketing materials, and customer testing specifications
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to solve practical customer problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs
  • Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
  • Flexibility and maturity to work independently while maintaining strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with different colleagues within the organization
  • Ability to interface with clients, gain new work and identify opportunities for growth or cross-selling
  • Resourceful and creative in finding solutions
