Job Description

Danfoss is looking for an Engineering Manager - Industrial Refrigeration System Controls at our Waynesboro, PA facility. As a member of the Global Headquarters for Industrial Refrigeration System Controls, the Engineering Manager is responsible for providing technical refrigeration and controls expertise to our Engineering teams supporting Engineer-To-Order PLC System Controls, Power Panels, and standard microprocessor panel product lines.

This is a fully onsite position at our location in Waynesboro, PA.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Support the PLC Engineering Team in creating, developing, and documenting PLC programs for industrial refrigeration systems utilizing Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, FactoryTalk SE, Wonderware, and Ignition
* Provide a high level of technical refrigeration expertise in support of the Engineering team in Engineer-To- Order customer projects and standard products. Create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up.
* Support Inside Sales with technical expertise for quotations and customer discussions
* Leverage refrigeration and controls expertise to assist in the resolution of escalated troubleshooting activities, when necessary
* Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the project schedules and the resources in the PLC Engineering Department
* Supervise, guide, direct, and develop the Engineering Team
* Participate in product problem resolution to ensure resolution in a timely manner and to participate in related discussions with customers and the sales organization
* Optimize engineering performance by contributing engineering recommendations to strategic planning and reviews; preparing and completing action plans to improve productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals; resolving engineering issues; identifying trends; determining system improvements; and implementing change
* Define competencies for successful performance and ensure that employees receive appropriate motivation, recognition, and training development opportunities for continuing growth
* Expand knowledge level by remaining current on industry codes and requirements, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.

Background & Skills

Engineering Manager Qualifications/Skills:
* Experience directly managing people
* Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering and 7-10 years of working experience
* Knowledge of Industrial Refrigeration systems and principles
* Project Management experience
* Ability to read, write and develop PLC programs
* Solid experience with PLC controls and HMI (Allen-Bradley Studio 5000/Factory Talk and Wonderware) is preferred
* Ignition experience is preferred
* IoT/Cloud solution deployment experience is preferred
* Familiarity with VFD's, starters, circuit breakers (220V & 460V primarily) preferred
* Working knowledge of computer aided engineering design tools, such as AutoCAD, Eplan, and MatLab
* Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English along with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including electrical schematics
* Strong analytical and technical skills
* Knowledgeable and well-informed on new developments in relevant technologies

Salary Range Disclaimer: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. The range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000.
