The Opportunity

The Construction Manager for Project Delivery Services will be responsible for observing, monitoring, and documenting the timely and safe execution of project site, structural, and electrical work performed in the field by construction and contracting crews. Observation of existing conditions, work in progress and completed work will be the responsibility of the Construction Manager and requires coordination with client teams, internal and external project management and project controls, engineering, equipment suppliers, and construction teams. The Construction Manager will also assist in on-site resolution of construction-related issues as they are identified and ensure that work is done in accordance with contract documents.

The Construction Manager will report directly to an Ulteig Supervisor of the Construction Management group, as well as to the Senior Project Manager of all assigned projects. The incumbent will lead a field team that consists of 3 to 4 field observers be part of a team that oversee field observations and inspections during the construction phase utility, large-scale wind and solar energy, or other energy-related construction projects, in accordance with the owner's requirements and contract documents. This will require coordination with engineering, procurement and project management teams as needed. This position is field-based and requires 100% travel.

Our goal is to provide construction management services in the form of project engineering, inspection services including safety, environmental compliance, public relations, and quality control, as well as adherence to project processes, procedures, and protocol.

What You'll Do



  • Lead site staff and day-to-day activities, including daily meetings, managing hours for the site team to stay with in project budget
  • Assist project management team
  • Track and report project/construction progress and status
  • Work closely with owner team, project management team, contractor management team, equipment suppliers, and owner's engineers, and utilities
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies
  • Perform and document job safety walk on a regular basis
  • Ensure adherence to client's Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs
  • Report, track, and resolve non-conformance issues in coordination with QA/QC
  • Review and adhere to environmental conformance plans
  • Review task budget, set and track productivity
  • Execute work plans for the construction activities
  • Implement of basic layout, and field measurements
  • Track Request For Information (RFls)
  • Review and verify contractor "as built" drawings
  • Track, and resolve punch list items
  • Prepare task completion reports
  • Prepare basic take off
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assist with site audits with the Owner's Independent Engineer



What We Expect from You



  • A post-secondary degree in Engineering or Construction Management or a minimum of 8 years of comparable field experience required
  • 10 years of related experience preferred
  • Experience with utility scale construction or related solar, wind, and BESS experience preferred
  • Advanced-level knowledge in:


    • In-depth site solar, wind, and BESS construction knowledge
    • Safety and OSHA requirements
    • Scheduling activities logically
    • Construction
    • Project Management
    • Contract Management
    • QA/QC Processes
    • Reading prints and drawings


  • Previous construction management/observation experience preferred
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the construction industry
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and construction specifications/manuals
  • Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office and Procore
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with contractors and others on and off the job site
  • Ability to work approximately 100% in the field, nights, weekends, and more than 40 hours per week
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $91,100 - $123,200
