Why This Role Matters As a Commercial Credit Analyst, you will play a key role in evaluating the creditworthiness of commercial loan applicants. By performing in-depth financial analysis and collaborating with the Commercial Relationship Officers, your work ensures strong credit decisions and supports the overall safety and soundness of the commercial loan portfolio. You'll contribute to our mission by helping businesses thrive while minimizing risk through accurate assessments and thoughtful recommendations. What You'll Do Core Responsibilities
- Credit Analysis: Analyze financial statements and business documentation for new and existing business loans to assess creditworthiness and risk.
- Loan Review: Prepare detailed, objective written credit analyses and present findings to staff with lending authority per the Business Loan Policy.
- Annual Reviews: Conduct timely financial reviews to update risk ratings and monitor ongoing borrower performance.
- Market Awareness: Maintain knowledge of economic trends and industry risks affecting loan quality and member businesses.
- Underwriting: Exercise delegated underwriting authority as defined in the Business Loan Policy.
- Operational Support: Assist with commercial loan processing from application to closing to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Commercial Relationship Officers and the commercial lending team to deliver cost-effective, member-focused solutions.
Qualifications
Who You Are Experience & Education
- 3-5 years of commercial credit analysis or related experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Skills & Strengths
- Proficiency in understanding and spreading business and personal tax returns
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Able to develop strong professional relationships and interact with members, colleagues, and external partners with discretion and diplomacy
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and detail-oriented with a commitment to producing timely, accurate work
