Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer I, you will play a crucial role in the development and realization of cutting-edge products, contributing to the success of our organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, utilize advanced design tools, and apply engineering principles to bring ideas from concept to production.

Responsibilities:

    Participate in the product design process, from concept generation and prototyping to final production, ensuring the design meets technical requirements and aligns with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Mechanical Engineers, Electrical engineers and Manufacturing engineers to create integrated solutions that balance functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturability.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 2D and 3D models of components, assemblies, and systems, while maintaining design integrity and accuracy.
  • Mitigate technical risk of designs with FEA, tolerance analysis and FMEA to ensure products meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including specifications, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Assist in selecting materials, processes, and suppliers, considering factors such as cost, availability, and environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to source and evaluate components, ensuring they meet quality standards and project requirements.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities, making iterative improvements based on test results and feedback.
  • Ensure the ongoing stability, reliability, and performance of existing products or systems within the organization.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design engineering, and apply this knowledge to enhance product development processes.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with simulation and analysis software (e.g., Finite Element Analysis) is advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to producing accurate and high-quality design documentation.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.

The expected annual salary for this position is between $75,504.00 and $101,553.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for the position and actual compensation will be based on numerous factors including knowledge, location, skills, training and experience.
