Warehouse & Logistics Manager

Job Summary:

Manage and oversee warehouse and material operations.

Essential Functions:

• Manage personnel and processes for shipping and logistics
• Control physical storage of raw material inventory and ensure inventory data accuracy in ERP system
• Maintain and execute site master storage plan
• Establish and maintain packaging and shipping processes and standards
• Oversee coordination of freight to maximize cost savings opportunities
• Manage and control the aging of inventory and scrap processing
• Oversee customer storage contract to ensure optimized space usage and contract compliance
• Manage material handlers to ensure timely and safe movement of materials to support production schedules
• Lead improvement initiatives and provide opportunities for the growth of associates

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of job shop material flow
• Freight negotiation and contract development
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Material storage and retrieval systems

Minimum Requirements:

Four+ years of supervisory or managerial experience in warehousing or logistics. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. Experience working in ERPs to manage inventory and shipping activities and transactions. Able to work with cross-functional groups consisting of engineering, technical or manufacturing personnel. Must be flexible to changing environments. Must be team oriented.

Working Conditions:

Typical manufacturing environment. Occasional exposure to weather conditions
