We are seeking a uniquely qualifiedJunior Financial Analyst position to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme.

Position Description:

The Financial Analyst will support the Program Manager in Port Hueneme and be responsible for conducting analysis to support the execution of the contract.

Work location and telework:

The government work location is the Port Hueneme, CA and you may be required on base, supporting the customer up to 5 days a week. Some teleworking or work from the contractor's location may be possible with the customers' approval.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Financial Analysts provide financial management support for a branch, office, organization, or department.
• The Financial Analyst may also perform the following duties:
  • Providing advice and technical assistance in the preparation of annual budgets. Measure organizational performance; assess the effects of various programs and policies on the budget.
  • Analysts examine budget estimates or proposals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
  • May employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program tradeoffs, and explore alternative funding methods.
  • Examine past and current budgets and research economic and financial developments that affect the organization's spending.
  • Develop guidelines and policies governing the formulation and maintenance of budgets.
  • May conduct training sessions for company or government agency personnel regarding new budget procedures.
  • Coordinate financial activities across various stakeholders.
  • Manage finances across multiple funding types.
  • Track budgets, costs, and variances. Produce executive summaries.
  • Conduct financial reporting and analyses on financial issues and customer requirements.
  • Develop and propose courses of actions (COAs) and recommendations for financial issues. Interpret and apply financial management principles.
  • Apply financial management processes, techniques, policies, regulations and organizational strategic goals.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's level degree
• Minimum 3 years in similar role

Preferred / Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience working with Navy or DoD contracts

Travel Requirements:

• Limited travel to the continental United States (primarily east and west coasts)
• Possible overseas travel
