Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Summary:

The Clinical Advisor shall provide direct support to the CBRN Medical Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with a focus on Translational CBRN Outreach.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • The contractor shall help maintain partnerships with a wide variety of DOD and interagency stakeholders.
  • The contractor shall assist in the creation of practical clinical concepts of use and clinical practice guidelines for current medical countermeasures and those under development.
  • The contractor shall assist the CMO in providing clinically relevant medical intelligence awareness/shared understanding to CBRN Medical.
  • The contractor shall assist the CMO in providing clinically relevant unclassified and classified consultations regarding medical countermeasures.
  • The contractor shall serve as a clinical representative on project teams and support risk planning efforts in the context of development of medical countermeasures for chemical and biological WMD threats as needed.
  • In collaboration with project team members, the contractor shall assist in the writing of clinical development plans.
  • The contractor shall review and search medical literature and databases to identify clinical and technical information and to provide references to support clinical plans.
  • The contractor shall author, edit, and contribute to preparation of technical reports, such as overall project concepts and descriptions, test plans and technical reports.
  • The contractor shall participate in audits/site visits and assist the CMO in delivering clinically relevant training as needed.
  • The contractor shall maintain current technical knowledge and skills, applying them to the job as necessary.
  • The contractor shall work with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) comprised of civilians, military and non-Government personnel, and matrix support staff with diverse areas of expertise, to include program managers, budget analysts, regulatory specialists, acquisition analysts, and logisticians as needed.
  • The contractor shall work with diverse product development teams, to include Government personnel and the CRO or other performers, such as statisticians, biologists, toxicologists, clinicians, pharmacologists, and formulation scientists as needed.
  • The contractor shall represent the organization, communicating with individuals both in and outside the organization, to include customers, the public, and other Government agencies, and external sources.
  • The contractor shall maintain communication with supervisors, peers, or subordinates via telephone, e-mail, or in person, as required.
  • The contractor shall develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • The contractor shall work independently and as part of a team, and must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, including technical writing experience in the field of CBRN via publication of peer-reviewed literature articles, clinical practice guidelines and/or operational plans
  • The contractor shall possess strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as good organization skills to balance and prioritize work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree Preferred residency + fellowship training in the following:
    • Internal Medicine + Infectious Disease OR
    • Emergency Medicine + Disaster Medicine OR
    • Internal Medicine or Family Practice or Emergency Medicine + Medical Toxicology OR
    • Internal Medicine + Clinical Pharmacology
  • Other physician specialties (preventive medicine, occupational health, etc.) with translatable experience/skills clearly denoted in a CV will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in clinical medicine o Experience:
  • The contractor shall have U.S. military operational experience as a physician defined as having been an operational/general medicine officer (battalion/brigade/division/command surgeon, flight surgeon, etc) with deployment experience at a role 1 or role 2 level of care or with Special Operations Forces
  • Shall have had previous training on medical management of CBRN casualties
  • Shall have experience conducting clinical research as a sub-investigator and/or principal investigator.
  • Be licensed in the U.S.
  • Be board certified in the U.S. in their specialty
  • Clearance: TS/SCI

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $230,000 annually.
