Radiation Therapist - Outpatient Radiation Therapy
Shift: PRN

As a Radiation Therapist in our Outpatient Radiation Therapy department, you can expect to work with a wide range of patients, from pediatrics to geriatrics. You will employ a wide range of skill sets and procedures related to radiation therapy delivery, including unique opportunities including Gamma Knife and Proton Therapy. Hours can range between 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM, but typical hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
General Description: Under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist or Radiation Therapist Lead, provides radiation therapy to patients. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
General Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program. Experience: None Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists in Radiation Therapy or eligible to sit for the exam. Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR). Incumbents may continue in this classification for up to 6 months and must receive certification within that timeframe. Special Requirement: Some positions may require approval in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) guidelines for unescorted access to radioactive materials. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of radiologic technology, theory, practices, techniques and procedures. Knowledge of radiation safety policies. Ability to work under stress and function in emergency situations. Good communication skills and the ability to work with others. Computer skills.
