POSITION:

The Department of Theatre and Dance is searching for a lecturer in performing arts for Winter Quarter for the 2025-26 academic year. To teach the following courses:

DRA 124D - Principles of Theatrical Design: Costume (4 units)

DRA 116 - Design on Film

This position encompasses a range of responsibilities centered on costume design and construction.

This member must be able to teach lecture courses, teach studio courses costume design and design costumes for the Department of Theatre and Dance.

Costume Design for production entails research and analysis of period and location, rendering designs and overseeing their construction in consultation with the director, as well as attending production meetings and technical rehearsals as part of the larger production team for each show.

The search committee is particularly interested in candidates who, through their creative work, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Minimum Qualifications:

An MFA and industry experience in Costume Design or Theatre Design/Technology with specific training/experience designing costumes and teaching costuming related courses at the undergraduate level.
