Junior Facilities Engineer

LOCATION: Huntsville, AL

JOB STATUS: Full-time

CLEARANCE: Secret

Astrion is seeking a Junior Facilities Engineer to support our customer in Huntsville, AL. The Junior Facilities Engineer provides direct support to the AvMC G-4 Facilities Division in the planning, coordination, and execution of facility-related operations and infrastructure improvement initiatives. Under the supervision of senior engineers and G-4 leadership, the Junior Facilities Engineer contributes to a wide range of tasks supporting the maintenance, modernization, and optimization of the Center's buildings and technical spaces.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • Secret Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or GIS tools preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Assist with the development of short-, mid-, and long-range facility planning for renovation, maintenance, and modernization projects.
  • Support data collection and condition assessments of buildings, utilities, and laboratory infrastructure.
  • Utilize engineering principles to provide input on layouts, mechanical/electrical configurations, and space utilization studies.
  • Coordinate minor construction activities, service requests, and movement of personnel or equipment in collaboration with the Garrison and tenant organizations.
  • Draft technical reports, project plans, and cost estimates in support of work packages and facilities documentation.
  • Help maintain accurate records of real property, project tracking, and equipment inventories using Government-furnished systems.
  • Participate in site walk-throughs, safety inspections, and readiness reviews, providing observations and recommendations as needed.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to understand user requirements and ensure project alignment with mission support priorities.
