Position Summary

The Anderson School of Management (ASM) at the University of New Mexico (UNM) is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a warm and professional demeanor to join our growing Business Operations team as an Administrative Assistant 3. Reporting directly to our Operations Manager, the Administrative Assistant 3 will work within the structure of our Business Operations team but primarily provide administrative support to our Corporate and Community Engagement (CCE) team.

The successful candidate will have a passion for and proven track record providing outstanding administrative support, a keen eye for details, and a desire and ability to learn.

Specific duties will include:



  • Purchasing activities for the college, working in a queue system to self-assign tasks.
  • Serve as the primary point of administrative contact for CCE. Answer calls and greet visitors to the CCE suite.
  • Assist with administrative activities and day-of support for events hosted and sponsored by Anderson, and, specifically, CCE.
  • Maintain the office supplies for CCE and the appearance and upkeep for the CCE conference room and other CCE spaces.
  • Upload custom course materials to shared folders and follow-up with custom training to ensure participants have the information available in time for the event.
  • Assist with travel arrangements.
  • Cross-train with other Business Operations-Admin team members to provide coverage when/where needed.
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience utilizing a purchase card and/or other business purchasing experience
  • Ability to balance strong attention to detail with timeline sensitive work
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational skills and methodologies for tracking projects and status
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals at different levels in the organization
