Plant Supervisor As the Plant Supervisor you will be responsible for guiding plant personnel and monitoring equipment and workloads to ensure the safe and timely completion of processes and projects within a hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facility. Essential Functions & Requirements:
- Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
- Schedules and directs plant employees in their assigned tasks to ensure production goals are met in an efficient manner
- Ensures all employees are working in a safe manner with all prescribed safety equipment required by regulations and Company policies and procedures
- Develops, maintains and initiates reporting related to all activities for leadership review or as required by regulations and Company policies and procedures
- Participates in the hiring, performance evaluation, promotion and disciplinary decisions for plant employees
- Trains new employees in Company and department procedures and monitors adherence
- Interfaces with other departments and functions to ensure a smooth flow of product through the treatment cycle
- Monitors equipment assigned to area of oversight; performs equipment repairs and/or notifies the Plant Manager of any contractor repair needs
- Maintains inventory of operating supplies and completes orders as needed
- Moves semi-trailers and tankers from parking lot and docks as needed
- Completes basic spill clean-up and housekeeping duties as directed
- Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience:
- 3+ years of related environmental experience at a supervisory level (required)
- 2+ years of environmental, health and safety experience (required)
- Experience operating tractor trailers/yard trucks and railcars (preferred)
Competencies:
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Working knowledge of all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the Environmental Services industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator
- Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
