Position Description

Your Opportunity:

TechSource is seeking a full-time Multidiscipline Security Specialist (MSS) to work as member of a cross functional team conducting Threat and Vulnerability Assessments for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). The Blue Team aims to ensure continuity to DoD missions and critical assets by assessing infrastructure vulnerabilities against a broad spectrum of threats including accidents, natural disasters, technological failure, information system attacks, terrorists, radio frequency weapons (RFW), sabotage, and weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

As a MSS, you will perform assessments of physical security systems, security operations, lock and key systems, access control, electronic security systems and insider threats. You will provide recommendations for mitigating identified vulnerabilities. You will be working onsite at DTRA Headquarters in Ft. Belvoir, VA, and at a nearby off-base facility.

What You Will Do:


  • Conduct assessments of critical defense assets regarding a range of security operations.
  • Provide expert advice on security management and operations to minimize or mitigate vulnerabilities and protect against insider threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members on assessment activities.
  • Analyze, document and communicate weaknesses or deficiencies in physical security posture, security operations, physical security systems designed to deny and delay, lock and key systems, access control procedures, electronic security systems designed to detect and assess intrusion, insider threat mitigation, and response force capabilities.

What You Will Need:


  • Active Top-Secret clearance, SCI eligible.
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant experience conducting security assessments, managing security operations, nuclear site security, or military / federal law enforcement.
  • Knowledge of DoD force protection and antiterrorism programs and requirements, including Navy Master-At-Arms, Air Force Security Forces, or Army Military Police experience.
  • Knowledge of access control procedures.
  • Knowledge of physical security systems designed to deny and delay, lock and key systems.
  • Knowledge of electronic security systems designed to detect and assess intrusion.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and a strong desire to learn.
  • Strong organizational and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (approximately 30%, 6 - 8 trips a year 2 weeks at a time).
